Started at Bear Lake. Growing across Utah.
YCK Security is the Wasatch Front expansion of Your Cabin Keeper — the local security installer that's been protecting Bear Lake cabins and Cache Valley homes for years. Same people. Same install philosophy. New service area.
- Utah-owned, Utah-installed — not a national franchise
- 5.0★ Google rating on the original Bear Lake operation
- Month-to-month monitoring, no long-term lock-ins
From cabin keeper to security installer.
YCK started as Your Cabin Keeper — a small Garden City, Utah operation focused on one obvious problem: Bear Lake cabin owners drove four hours back home on Sunday night and spent the rest of the week wondering if anyone was checking on the property. Pipes freeze. Snow loads pile up. Doors don't quite latch. And the closest neighbor might be a quarter mile away.
So we built a security install service around the cabin owner — cameras you could watch from your phone in Salt Lake or Logan, alarms that called dispatch even when nobody could answer the phone, and water + temperature sensors that caught a freeze-up before it became a flood.
It worked. Five years in, our Bear Lake customers were sending us to friends back home in the valley. So we started doing Wasatch Front installs — and realized the cabin playbook actually applied to a lot of regular Utah homes too. Big lots. Outbuildings. Families that travel. RVs and boats in the driveway. Older neighborhoods with side alleys.
That's the company you're looking at now. Same installers. Same monitoring center. Same "if a sensor needs moving, we drive out" philosophy. Just covering a lot more of Utah.
Four things we don't do.
Security has earned a reputation for high-pressure sales, surprise fees, and 36-month contracts. We took a hard look at why and decided to skip the parts that put security customers on the defensive.
1. We don't subcontract installs.
Every install is done by a YCK employee who lives in Utah and stays local. The same person who walks your property usually shows up with the truck on install day.
2. We don't lock you in.
Once you own the equipment, monitoring is month-to-month. Optional hardware financing has a financing term, but that's the only contract — and it's separate from your monitoring.
3. We don't sell from a catalog.
The quote is based on what your home actually needs — not a pre-built "Silver / Gold / Platinum" package that adds hardware to hit a price point.
4. We don't disappear after install.
A camera needs re-aiming, a sensor needs moving, an app login broke — call us. We drive out. No upcharge during your first year.
Wasatch Front, with Bear Lake still home base.
Round 1 of the Wasatch Front expansion covers Salt Lake County, Utah County, and Davis County. Bear Lake and Evanston coverage continues from the original Garden City operation.
Common questions about the company.
What does YCK stand for?
Your Cabin Keeper — the name we started under in Garden City, Utah. We kept the YCK initials as we expanded to homes and businesses across the Wasatch Front so existing customers wouldn't lose track of us.
Are you a franchise of a national security company?
No. YCK is independently Utah-owned. We use the same nationally-certified equipment that the big brands install, but our installers, dispatch coordination, and customer service are all local.
Who handles the actual 24/7 dispatch?
We partner with a UL-certified monitoring center that staffs real dispatchers 24/7. Our team coordinates with them, registers your address, and handles permitting where required. Same monitoring backbone the big brands use — without the markup or the contract.
Why expand to the Wasatch Front now?
Honest answer: word of mouth from Bear Lake customers brought us back to the valley enough times that it stopped making sense to keep refusing the jobs. We've been doing Wasatch Front installs informally for a while; the new website just makes it official.
Will the Bear Lake operation keep running?
Yes. Our Garden City operation continues serving Bear Lake, Cache Valley, and Evanston cabin and home owners. The Wasatch Front launch is an expansion, not a relocation.
Talk to the people who'll actually install your system.
Local. Family-owned-style. Real walk-through, no high-pressure pitch.
